Thomson PORTIA Event
CHALLENGE
Thomson Financial is a leading provider of investment tools and information for more
than 1,200 global firms. Thomson's 2007 PORTIA User Conference welcomed over one
hundred Thomson clients and offered them the opportunity to learn more about PORTIA,
a global performance measurement and risk reporting tool. The goal of the conference
was to reveal how the newest version of PORTIA can truly “supercharge” back office
workers. The challenge was to produce an event that flawlessly conveyed the "supercharge"
theme, while remaining as cost-effective as possible
SOLUTION
Blue Wave produced the general session for the conference and incorporated the "supercharge"
theme in all staging, video and audio elements. The set consisted of gigantic, shooting
stars suspended from the ceiling and a beautifully lit cyc wall that mimicked the event
logo. Blue Wave also created a unique two part video that used the concept of a comic
book to show-case the new features of PORTIA 9.0. The staging, combined with the video
and super-hero themed music, provided the perfect environment for Thomson to highlight
a new product that supercharges asset management.
