CHALLENGE
Sonsie Restaurant off Newbury St. in the heart of Boston has routinely attracted
new and repeat customers to patron its unique dining and lounge experience.
Over the years, local nightlife publications honored Sonsie's culinary mastery,
while placing as much emphasis on it being "the place for a brush with greatness."
This honor translated into a welcomed increase in dining activity throughout the
day and into the evening, while it also brought an overwhelming increase in
socialites overcrowding the bar area.
SOLUTION
Sonsie's ownership contracted with Blue Wave Marketing to develop advertising that
would capture this great honor while continuing to promote top-notch international
cuisine from award winning Chef Bill Poirier. Additionally, they wanted to remind
customers Sonsie opens for breakfast and remains open well into the night. Blue
Wave created a core messaging strategy that centered the restaurants story on being
"as much for the scene as for the cuisine."
In an effort to keep customer satisfaction levels high and accommodate as many guests as possible, Sonsie renovated its lower level storage rooms, turning the entire floor into the Red Room Lounge. Blue Wave was contracted to get the word out by developing the new brand, signage, menus, promotions and advertising.
