CHALLENGE
Ives Development, a leading producer of application development tools, planned to launch their
latest applications as part of a new product suite. In order to make this launch a record-breaking
sales success, Ives had to justify to their current customers the need to upgrade was essential
while popping off the shelf and convince new customers to make the purchase at the increased price-point.
SOLUTION
Ives turned to Blue Wave Marketing to develop the product brand, packaging, promotions and direct
mail. Each software component was given special attention as it was rolled into the product suite
communications and packaging. With the support of numerous colleagues from across the client's
organization, Blue Wave delivered an overall marketing strategy to support the release and
fulfillment of the product through it's sales lifecycle. Each software tool was given a singular
identity that rolled-up into a master product brand named the "Team Studio Design System." A
high-gloss laminate corrugated package was produced to hold the software manual, registration card,
software certificate, mouse pad, and the software CD packet. Every item down to the reproduction
of software CDs was managed and fulfilled by Blue Wave.
Ives experienced a 300% growth in sales within the first year, attracting the eye of IBM, who would ultimately acquire the organization and it's flagship "Team Studio Design System."
